The Central Province Girls Soccer Tournament with Support from Sports for Social Change Network Africa (SSCNA), Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), Plan International Zambia and Ministry of Health.
We had 10 Girls Soccer Teams from the various parts of Central Province divided into groups of two comprising 5 teams each group.
We are delighted to report that over the 300+ Girls that took part 173 did access Free HIV/ AIDS Counselling and Testing.
Learnt about Gender Based Violence (GBV) ,The dangers of Drug Abuse by the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) under the Counselling and Education department, we conducted awareness lessons on the importance of Child Safeguarding and Protection Policies and ending Early child marriages and teenage pregnancies. After a two day intense awareness on life skills and Football competition amongst the ten Girls Football teams. Kabwe Celtics were crowned champions of the tournament after defeating Sport in Action Girls on post match penalties. The winners walked away with a set of Jersey made possible support from Mr Padraig O'Fainin and Zamda Ireland. Above all we are grateful to Hon Tutwa Sandani Ngulube MP Kabwe Central Constituency for donating a K1, 200 towards the allowances of our volunteers from Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), Counsellors from Ministry of Health, our partners from DREAMS Centre in Katondo and other various volunteers, our Sponsors, Partners, Father David from the selassiens of Don Bosco Chiloto in Makululu and various individuals who made the event a reality.
We shall strive to make a difference in the lives of the young people.
